About Newey's
The Jewellery Quarter has been the heart of jewellery manufacturing since the 1800's.
The Quarter was then a trade only area, inaccessible to members of the public unless you were fortunate to know the craftsmen personally, who'd allow you into the workshops.
Newey's was founded in 1971 when a local pub landlord saw an opportunity for retail shops to sell direct to the public.
Slowly more and more shops opened, family run businesses, most with manufacturing experience behind them. The quarter now houses over 100 retail shops, bars, restaurants, galleries and museums.
Newey's remains in the same family. We are a team of about twenty. This includes a setter, two mounters and sales assistants known to be the most helpful in the trade.
